Dvorak Stabat Mater

During 2021, the English Arts Chorale will be collaborating with the orchestra of the Prague Conservatoire in three performances of Dvorak's Stabat Mater.

The first, on Friday March 19th, takes place in St Bartholomew's Church, Brighton, and the following evening a performance will be given in St Mary's Church, Reigate.

In April, the choir will visit Prague for a further performance in St Salvator Church , which is considered to be one of the finest examples of early Baroque architecture in Prague.

Dear Singer,

Come to PRAGUE for four days of joyous music-making, including DVORAK STABAT MATER, and FAURE REQUIEM.

Under their inspirational director Leslie Olive, the English Arts Chorale is inviting Singers to join them for an exceptional singing holiday in Prague from 7^th to 10^th April 2021. The Project is a collaboration between the EAC and the spectacular young Symphony Orchestra of the Prague Conservatoire.

During the tour the Stabat Mater will be performed in the magnificent Baroque church of St. Salvator, standing proudly at the grand entrance to the world-famous Charles Bridge. A further concert, including the Faure Requiem accompanied by organ, will also be arranged ( venue to be confirmed).

Singers joining the tour will also have the opportunity sing in two performances of the Stabat Mater in the UK at:

· St Bartholomew's Church in Brighton 19^th March

· St Mary's Church in Reigate 20^th March

The cost of taking part in this exciting Project is:

* £350 for members of EAC

* £450 for Visiting Singers

* £250 for non singing partners

* £100 for single room supplement

Prices include bed and breakfast accommodation in the Hotel Kampa ( Prague), and all rehearsals. Participants will need to make their own arrangements for travel and meals.

Singers will be expected to join rehearsal programmes in Reigate, but with some flexibility reflecting your knowledge of these works and the level of your music-reading.

Applicants who live elsewhere in the UK (and are unable to join those rehearsal programmes) are still encouraged to apply if they:

· have fully prepared and performed all of this repertoire at least twice before; OR

· have outstanding sight-reading, or both, AND

· will guarantee to attend two FULL DAY workshops in Reigate on 13th February 2021 and 6th March 2021.
