English Arts Chorale

Verdi Challenge 2020

We are hoping that our concert in the Queen Elizabeth Hall may still go ahead as planned - although the rehearsal schedule is now radically altered.

Do you relish a challenge?

On July 7th 2020 the English Arts Chorale will be performing Verdi's great Requiem, in the Queen Elizabeth Hall on London's South Bank. Conducted by Leslie Olive, the Chorale's founder and artistic director, the soloists will be Linda Richardson, Emily Bauer-Jones, Andrew Henley and Emyr Wyn Jones.

The Chorale is recruiting additional singers for this concert. If you think you would enjoy this challenge, can read music and have some choral experience, you can join us as a Visiting Singer - we'd love to hear from you.

The Challenge starts on April 20th, with our first rehearsal at Wray Common Primary School in Reigate, RH2 0LR.

The cost of the Challenge is £40 (£20 for singers under 30).

Full-time students between the ages of 17 and 30 can take part free of charge - click here for more details or send Alice Baker an email.

The fee includes:
20th April to 29th June      Weekly rehearsals at Wray Common Primary School, Reigate
7th July                                 Afternoon rehearsal at QEH followed by evening performance at 7.30pm

The rehearsals in Reigate take place on Monday evenings, 7.44pm to 10pm.

Access to online resources and sectional rehearsals will also be available, and the cost of hiring a score is included.

The EAC is grateful to the Borough of Reigate and Banstead Arts Council for supporting young singers' participation in this event.
